@Julianlstar @northernjamie I think the data formats page needs a complete overhaul.

The Open 3P data standard has been designed to facilitate seamless data exchange both within and between organisations. While the standard supports various file formats, including text files, CSV, and popular spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, or Open Office, it's important to note that leveraging the standard solely through these formats might not fully harness its potential within the dynamic packaging value chain.

Given the intricacies of the packaging value chain, the optimal utilisation of the standard is achieved when it is integrated into a software solution, such as a web, desktop, or mobile application. By incorporating the standard into a dedicated software solution, organisations can unlock its complete functionality and realise its maximum benefits. Such an approach enables efficient data management, enhances collaboration, and streamlines processes across the entire value chain.

By embracing the Open 3P data standard through a software solution, organisations can harness its power to drive innovation, improve data accuracy, and ensure seamless interoperability among stakeholders. This approach will enable the packaging industry to overcome challenges, make informed decisions, and pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient future.

Did ChatGPT write this?

DsposalTom commented 1 year ago

It was a collaborative approach. I wrote something, it added some things, I corrected it and then I added it here for more human input.

Julianlstar commented 11 months ago

It is a bit verbose. Basically you are saying that:

  1. Open 3P enables data interchange both within and between organisations
  2. It can be used in in a number of file formats
  3. It can be used in a number of common spreadsheet applications
  4. Although you can use these application the power of Open 3P is unleashed when used programmatically and integrated into existing or in development systems

Did ChatGPT summarise this?

I'm thinking about SEO. I'm happy to summarise it but I think we want longer content on these pages so that search engines can understand what this is all about, and humans can search and find it easier.

Julianlstar commented 11 months ago

No I summarised.

Aren't we writing this for people and not Google bots. I would also think about why people would come to the site.

They search for Open 3P: result they end up at Open 3P They search for packaging data standard: result not sure but could imagine that open 3p would be high up there They search the packaging industry is shit and I need something to make it all go away: well we could use SEO for that.

But you get my point, but if the text could be shortened somewhat that would be great. There is a bit of duplication, think about the data packets, think about the environment. Also you know that ChatGPT is environmentally problematic?
