How does ODD differ from existing Open x definitions?

Yes, we are trying to make it as generic as possible, so it can be applied to different kinds of design (maybe with a fork of the license). I'm also exploring the condition for the design process of Open Design (and at the moment there is no specific process that defines what is Open Design, but the idea is that if the process is documented, it should be also available in the source code).

Another thing that will be different for this definition: it will be difficult to state a specific license for design, since the law landscape is too fragmented among countries and among kinds of design.
