Can't power down OE 3 beta #1611

Closed Viald closed 11 years ago

Viald commented 11 years ago

Since the upgrade to OE 3 beta (currently beta 5) I can't power down OE using my remote or simply by pressing the power button. Everything was fine with OE 2.0 I'm running OE on Giada A50. Debugging mode shows that the power off signal from the remote is not caught.

markom80 commented 11 years ago

I have same problem with fusion.

Viald commented 11 years ago

Giada A50 is based on AMD fusion E-350 as well.

Viald commented 11 years ago

Seems to be solved with the new beta 6 :)

markom80 commented 11 years ago

No, i don't think so. Once in yesterday i tried to shutdown system from power button and it freezed.

Viald commented 11 years ago

I confirm, after watching a movie, I can't shutdown using the power or the remote button. The system is not hang, I can power off it using the same command. Below log information just after pressed power button: 00:25:30 T:140600164431680 NOTICE: Saving settings

When I power down it reboots the system. Is that issue related?

https://github.com/OpenELEC/OpenELEC.tv/issues/1645

Viald commented 11 years ago

@gpiccon We need more informations, at least log file and hardware configuration.

Dok1 commented 11 years ago

Same problem with xtreamer ultra 2. It worked fine until beta 5, with beta 6 power off doesn't work anymore.

PierreAronnax commented 11 years ago

I am having the same issue on beta 6. XBMC won't shutdown (screen freezes), ssh and samba keeps running.

XBMC log with a nice Exception at the end: http://sprunge.us/ZRhN

Viald commented 11 years ago

I can't still power down OE but I have different debug log. But we can see that the remote IR signal is now well caught. OE doesn't finish properly his shutdown process.

no more log, I have to send "poweroff" command line !

elbugs commented 11 years ago

Guys. Here you have xbmc.log. Don't know if you need Kernel.log or something more. Please. Just ask! I'll send you what you need. Problem as mentioned above: When I shutdown it reboots. Thanks.

XBMC.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=24657 KERNEL.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=24659

[UPDATE: Tested with OpenELEC 2.99.1. Same result. When I press shutdown, never mind GUI or SSH the system reboots.]

markom80 commented 11 years ago

I made some modifications to system and power off is working now...

elbugs commented 11 years ago

@markom80 I have SSD. I made a fresh install lots of times. I have all my content in a external server via SMB. USB 3HDD.,. Are you removing that from BIOS?

markom80 commented 11 years ago

I just disconnected usb3 hdd. Usb3 is still enabled in bios. It could be just luck that system is properly powering off...

elbugs commented 11 years ago

Anyone has tried with the latest branch of github? I tried with the the branch from day 18/01/2013. I will download and compile again... (fingers crossed)

top-gun commented 11 years ago

I made a built with the master-branch from about 12hours ago, and have shut down my Fusion system (Zotac AD04, E-450) successfully.

elbugs commented 11 years ago

@top-gun perfect! But, before that build, could you shutdown the system or you was having the reboot bug?

top-gun commented 11 years ago

I had both shutdown- and suspend-issues before, can't say whether they happened with 2.99.1 or 2.95.6, though, sorry.

The current build gave me shutdown-issues in one condition: tvheadend does often not restart after suspend. If it hangs, shutdown is not possible until i kill the process.

PS: It turned out to be the kernel remounting the SD-card as r/o, not really an issue of tvheadend. It does not happen with a HDD or SSD.

Viald commented 11 years ago

Same issue with RC2 :-(

elbugs commented 11 years ago

Same issue with RC2 too.

Marsi71 commented 11 years ago

Power Toggle still not working in RC3 :-(

Viald commented 11 years ago

Same !

Jasimo commented 11 years ago

Same for me on a xtreamer Ultra Rgs

Viald commented 11 years ago

RC4 has the same issue. I read that it should be one of the last RC before final release. What's wrong with this ?

Marsi71 commented 11 years ago

RC5: PWR Toogle still NOT fixed!

jenkins101 commented 11 years ago

please provide zip form logfiles share with debug enabled in xbmc

  1. enable debug
  2. try reboot.
  3. if it fails post zip.

thanks.

Viald commented 11 years ago

I confirm RC5 doesn't fixed the issue. To be clear, it's not possible to power off OE only after playing a video. If you try just after power on, playing music, or watching photos, there is no problem.

jenkins101 commented 11 years ago

remove Watchdog addon and try again.

if this don't help provide debug logs...

Viald commented 11 years ago

I didn't find this addon on my system. Below log files from my system: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2577678/OE/log-2013-03-18-12.03.26.zip And the log file just after the power down request: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2577678/OE/Poweroff.log

Viald commented 11 years ago

3.0 seems to solve this issue :) I wait one or two weeks that everybody confirms before closing it. Thank you

Marsi71 commented 11 years ago

Hi, not solved for me. If I press power toggle on OE 3.0.0 the main menu is switching to "weather" (to the left) and that's it.

log after reboot: http://pastebin.com/j9q5PDiZ

jenkins101 commented 11 years ago

do you use a custom Lircmap.xml ? if so pastebinit.

so your power button gives you Left ?

jenkins101 commented 11 years ago

Hi,

If this is still an issue please reopen this issue providing new logs from latest OpenELEC release.
