xmbc freeze when trying to play a file #319

Closed ghost closed 12 years ago

ghost commented 12 years ago

i'm using generic 1.0.2, with an asus p5v800-mx motherboard, a nvidia geforce 6200 graphic card, and a RaLink Wireless usb dongle. When i try to play a file, video or audio, local or networked, the gui freeze. The ssh seems unaffected because i can still login and reboot or poweroff remotely.

Humm, a problem with xbmc it seems.. missing libva? i'm fairly new here but i'm sure i've seen this somewhere...

ghost commented 12 years ago

ok, yes it was in the program addons, tried to install it but it did not help... ok i get it, VAAPI: Video Acceleration API, seems that my video card is not supported after all

ghost commented 12 years ago

ok turning off VAAPI in video settings... then i get this:

03:03:33 T:2917198704 M:1960742912 ERROR: (VDPAU) unable to init VDPAU - vdp_st = 0x1. Falling back. 03:03:33 T:2917198704 M:1960742912 NOTICE: CDVDVideoCodecFFmpeg::Open() Failed to get VDPAU device

ok, turned VDPAU off, it removed the error about the display but xbmc is still frozen.. now i'm lost...

ghost commented 12 years ago

Ok, i found the debug option in system settings...

can you please try if possible with a new development build from: http://sources.openelec.tv/tmp/image/openelec-eden/

there are much improvenments which will not be backported to dharma anymore. you can install on a USB stick for testing

ghost commented 12 years ago

ok, got the latest devel build... same problem, xbmc freeze when i try to play a file, but then again, the same thing appen when i try to reboot or shutdown from xbmc...

mrdominuzq commented 12 years ago

have you tried on another pc ?

newphreak commented 12 years ago

How is this in beta1? and what video accelerators do you use? Disable all but VDPAU.

ghost commented 12 years ago

sorry, but as it turns out, there was something physically wrong with that pc.. not sure if that was the cause of the bug, but i dont see any reason to keep this bug open unless someone else is experiencing this...

newphreak commented 12 years ago

Closed for now then. :)
