To correct @MattDevo: Not "any" input but only the d-pad input is doubly registered.
And I noticed that it is not registered twice if another button is pressed at the same time. This circumstance can be used as a simple "workaround" to be able to succesfully navigate with the xbox controller for the time being until a proper fix arrives.
As noted in http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=246615, any inputs with an Xbox 360 controller are registered in duplicate, making menu navigation extremely difficult.
This issue effects both openelec-6.0 and master, and appears to be restricted to Kodi, since the controller works properly with addons such as retroarch.
