OpenELEC Rockchip Support #5061

Stephen/All, As you might now, Tinker Board is a board which is really capable of hosting the OpenELEC and is getting quite popular now. Guys in here "https://github.com/omegamoon/LibreELEC.tv/tree/Rockchip/projects" have added support for Rockchip devices which works quite good on version 8.0.0 which I have recently compiled and tried.

Is there any reason you guys do not accept the pull requests for other chips?

Does OpenELEC officially plan to support devices other than RPi, Generic and WEETEK?

We do appreciate if you include Tinker Board in the list of your supported devices for using the OpenELEC.

At last, sorry to ask this request/question in issue page!

@sghazagh I suggest you test our latest work-in-progress version at https://github.com/Kwiboo/LibreELEC.tv/tree/rockchip/projects/Rockchip/devices/TinkerBoard for the time being

Also I would not recommend anyone to port this to OpenELEC until we have finished upstreaming of the ffmpeg, Kodi and LibreELEC parts

Our main goal is to upstream this work into Kodi v18, ffmpeg 3.4 and LibreELEC 9, not OpenELEC. But anyone is free to port our work to OpenELEC, I just suggest they wait until all required parts have been upstreamed :)

LibreELEC also is fine. How I can follow to receive the announcement of your progress and completion? Do you have any time frame in your mind?

By the way my friend, I tried to compile the LibreELEC from above GIT repository, and if you change the DISTRO name in "option" file, at very end it cannot copy files as it cannot find the build folder and make breaks!

I am clearing everything and put the Distro name back to default and hope it successfully finishes! Your repository does not have ISSUE page to report, but I thought it's good to inform you.
