[raspberry-pi] MP3 import freeze

Hi,

I am importing a massive MP3 library onto a Raspberry-Pi running OpenElec (June 14th build) from a NAS drive using SAMBA. Most albums import fine, however on certain albums it freezes every time, requiring the RPi be powered off and on again as stopping the scan also hangs. Googling around I was initially led to believe that this was an issue with DRM, however there are DRM files which are importing fine, I have also installed XBMC onto a linux mint machine and it also imports the same files without an issue. I have tried renaming files and folders to rule out invalid characters in the filenames and I do not believe this to be the issue.

from my experience some jpeg files as album ars are making problem. Also zip files in the same folder.

Just upgraded to the Jul02 build and getting the same experience. The files are imported into xbmc on a laptop running mint linux without a problem (also import into iTunes, MediaMonkey etc fine). The jpeg album art does sound like a very viable issue, there are no zip files in the same folder (no files other than the mp3 files comprising the album and the jpeg album art):

Exactly the same with me! No problems with the library with XBMC on windows nor on AppleTV2 but with Raspberry it hangs. I dont think it has to do with jpeg because it also hangs on a folder without jpeg's. When I remove this folder and restart the scan hangs on the next folder.

FYI Just updated to OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20120704203304-r11493 release and the behaviour is still there, freezing on the same folders.

Same problem here (r11493 also). I have a fair collection of files that will hang the UI if I try to import them (although SSH remains responsive), however if I select them through the "Files" menu on an Android remote they play just fine, although again the UI hangs. I uploaded a couple of files that cause this behaviour to http://www.tombom.co.uk/xbmc_breakers/ - I'll take them down once the bug is fixed (and cross my fingers for "fair use" in the meantime...!)

If this issue is still present with our latest builds please report XBMC related bugs to http://trac.xbmc.org because RPi support is now merged to XBMC officially.
