Feature Request : Power down external USB HDD #37

With the ability to power down the main HDD after 'x' number of minutes, would it be possible to add a feature that tries to do the same for any external HDD mounted?

I'm closing this because we already have that feature (for some time), and this is a bug tracker ONLY so if you want help use the forums, and in the forums stick to one thread per major issue instead of one thread per question. The novelty of tracking 10 threads from the same user on the same thing wears off real quick.

Can this feature request that was shot down be reopened as a bug now, as it appears that the feature has disappeared in Openelec 4.0?

nope. it is moved to unofficial-addons. (hd-idle). feel free to install it. we dont want it as officialy supoported feature

indeed, hdd wear and power consumption are overvalued ;-)
