Solid State Relays are not a good fit for EVSEs for 3 main reasons. The main purpose of the EVSE is isolation until all safety checks pass. SSRs can not guarantee isolation and there is a chance of shock even when commanded off. Additionally EVSEs must fail safe. SSRs tend to fail closed shorted where the mechanical properties of a relay tend to fail safe.
Additionally, SSRs have a pretty high internal resistance, at a high sustained current this can translate into hundreds of watts of waste heat, far too much to deal with in a small enclosure.

Replace contactor with something like https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sensata-crydom/D24125/CC1143-ND/254192
Zero-cross might also be nicer for the car charger....?
