There is a request from France to have a translated version for a local research project. @SachaHq
In order to be also used in other context and lower barriers it should be discussed if it is a good idea to have additional translations for non-English speakers.
In general we can investigate and discuss different approaches for multilingual metadata:
Translate all keys and corresponding descriptions
pro: More people can use it; Can be handled by OMI
contra: More work to maintain additional versions; Native speakers needed
Create translated user interfaces that use the English metadata
pro: Only one version to maintain
contra: Metadata outside the interface are not usable for some
