I believe it's better to decline the current application that classifies the OEP as a provider, and you can make a new onboarding application as a resource that I'm happy to approve. The classification you mentioned is the correct one and it will be better for the discoverability of the platform by the end users.
Provider: participant offering EOSC resources for consumption. Resource: digital object or process such as data and metadata, publications, software, workflows, services, and training materials. EOSC rules of participation, Published: 2021-01-12, Page 3
New application as resource.
I had to register the RLI as provider (legal entity), because I wasn't able to register for the OVGU, who is the database host. In the future, we could exchange that with the "Verein". https://marketplace.eosc-portal.eu/providers/rli
You have applied for registering [Open Energy Platform] - [rli.open_energy_platform] as a new Resource in the EOSC Portal. Your application has been approved and the Resource has been successfully listed in the EOSC Portal. You can view the published Resource here: https://marketplace.eosc-portal.eu/services/open-energy-platform
I was invited to present it at an EOSC event 01/02/2022: Data storage https://eoscfuture.eu/eventsfuture/ask-me-anything-1-data-storage/
