IPA and VPN Server Migration #122

In the next few weeks, the lab will migrate the OFA cluster to a new IPA server, VPN, and router. We will try to keep the majority of these changes transparent to the users, until the final VPN move, which will require new VPN configuration files.

The approximate work plan is as follows:

  1. Export / Import existing user between the old IPA server and new IPA server
  2. Migrate (join) the Beaker and Builder servers to the new IPA domain.
  3. Migrate routing to new VPN server, reconfigure old VPN server to route to/through the new server
  4. Migrate users to new VPN server via new configurations (user changes / interactions required)
  5. Retire old VPN server, remove any unnecessary routes from the new VPN server

This issue will be used to track the progress. Items 1 & 2 should not cause any downtime or issues with users or systems. Item 3 will cause a brief downtime, while the networks and routing is moved. Item 4 involves all the humans :-)
