PolyK library is being included, its MIT licence, is that compatible we our license?

When trying to load the folllowing shapefile ( http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/nationalatlas/statesp020_nt00032.tar.gz )

Tried with another shapefile ( http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/download/bytes/nyad_13a.zip ) and got the following error:
