Nice link! Just a comment about terminology - BLE is very different from BT. The Valve stuff is based around Nordic nRF24LU01P (or similar), which has alternate f/w modes to talk propitiatory or BLE.

BTW you should also consider the Steam Gamepad, this apparently has it's own internal acc/gyros and can compute it's orientation and output a quanternion.
