iD and P2 deployment on openhistoricalmap.org show Bing imagery #33

Open pnorman opened 10 years ago

pnorman commented 10 years ago

The license that allows OpenStreetMap to use Bing imagery states

The rights that you have under this agreement are limited solely to aerial imagery use in a non-commercial online editor application of OpenStreetMap maps (an “Application”).

Unfortunately this license does not cover OpenHistoricalMap.

should be able to use Maquest open aerial - or source a landsat imagery somewhere

Unable to use mapbox satellite - as they also have an OSM specific clause.

Reopening.

so iD should be okay - but P2 needs configuring

Abbe98 commented 9 years ago

What about removing P2 and just go with iD and JSOM?

pnorman commented 9 years ago

P2 also pulls in from editor-imagery-index

@rwelty1889 - is this issue resolved with your getting permissions?

pnorman commented 3 years ago

I don't know what API key is being used, but it should be checked that it's not the OSM one.

Is it possible to check it? Right now it is different from one being used right no by OSM iD, but there may be also other ones.

Who is administering and can revoke OSM controlled keys?
