sometimes images are taken at points which show a general area. this concept is that you can drop a point in space which is more-or-less where the camera was, set an orientation, and use the existing image: tagging scheme for images. an example would be Bill Westerholt's pair of National road images from his presentation at SOTM US 2022 yesterday. these nodes would not need to render but would show up in an overlay implemented for ticket 351
