Update `rail_mini` styling #691

Closed vknoppkewetzel closed 9 months ago

vknoppkewetzel commented 10 months ago

Per conversations in OHM Discord, update rail_mini to be a thinner version of main symbology

_> should be rendered like any other railway, it was a normal railway in function and the only difference is the gauge

a slightly thinner line would be fine, but this just makes it not look like it's a railway at all, it looks like a border or a fence or something like that_

Demo, main style to review

This will be included in the next OHM style update on main style.

Also will update on the rail demo style

I believe the real issue is that most of the time you only see black and white while moving around the map. And when then a special type of rail appears it looks super out of place being the only coloured thing. So it either needs to be a black and white only style, what it will turn into if we continue going the way we are on, or normal rails need to be more colourful

vknoppkewetzel commented 9 months ago

@Bauer33333 definitely true. The color assignments can change and the demo style was intended to start conversations around what is/isn't ideal for OHM "rail style" users.

In the draft design, the intention was that the main rail would be black and other usage types would possibly utilize color, symbology, or both (types within a category) to differentiate (see test bed here as an example)

If the community thinks it's ideal to keep all rail types in one color, we can do that and only differentiate via symbology and shapes. We also can differentiate with symbology + color, and adjust what is or isn't in different colors.
