Sliders for column and row number are hard to adjust.
Number of rows and columns is not live, when moving the slider
Increment by 1 is a very small ratio of the width of the screen and in connection with 1., it is a trial and error game having large fingers.
One can imaging that switching between two tremendously different setting (such as 5 and 20 rows, or 6 and 18 columns) is done only when testing or goofing around : so not too often for a usual user. I guess a user rather adjusts among 4, 5 and 6, or 17 to 20. For such cases a +/- numeric field is better to adjust.
