I did a combination of the first two. I added a wrapper div around the math rendering which has 90% reduced font size and acquires a horizontal scrollbar on overflow. It coul dno doubt be improved but iot means that the rendering is again readable.
Currently the math rendering of larger FMP gets clipped
Compare the new

with the old

The page styling for CDs is already slightly wider than the site default and it probably doesn't make sense to allow it to be any wider if it is restricted at all.
Could set the math smaller
Could probably fiddle with the div so that it acquires a scrollbar if the math is too large (need to check on the interaction with mathjax)
could probably set the math in a relatively positioned div of unconstrained width so it just spills out into the right margin without being constrained by the page width
could go back to having unconstrained page width for Cd rendering
Which would people prefer?
