This would really make a better forum post since more people would see it. I don't use HomeAssistant so I can't help with that. Are you seeing a high idle cpu % when creating a basic Linux (Ubuntu or Debian minimal) VM?
@ryecoaaron I don't get you first sentence but I'll try a minimal Debian VM this weekend.
My first sentence means that I am the only one who reads the issues for the openmediavault-kvm plugin. So, I am the only one who can help. If you posted on the OMV forum, lots of people would see the thread and be able to help. I am going to out of the country for the next week. So, it will be a while before I respond again.
Hello,
I'm running a small pc with a Intel 7400t and 32GB Memory, virtualization is supported by CPU (checked with kvm-ok). However I'm still seeing a high idle CPU usage, using about 10-20%. My virtualized System is Home Assistant OS but without anything configured. Runing Home Assistant in a docker container didn't produce the high CPU load. You can clearly see the switch here:
I'm not sure now if hardware acceleration is used now since there's no option to validate that and I've already removed VNC/Splice to improve performance but no luck. Anything missing here? My XML:
