change reflecs level and tp value #1330

Every toon has been getting riija 3 for reflections. if you have a toon thats not a pure mage its usualy a great idea to add 10 int and get 3 riija for flecs. almost everyone pvping is using flecs.

so i propose we raise flecs to level five. this will need 20 int to get flecs wich is way more costly that 10. also the spell is way to strong to cost 30 tp. i raised it to 75

hopefully we will see more than flecs on the battlefield

I totally disagree with that. Moving a spell to another level is a big change, that can destroy a huge amount of characters. The reasoning "hope we see more than flecs on the battlefield" is really not enough. I don't see any advantages if you move that spell. They will use reflection if it is on lvl 3 or 5.

Take a look at the view of us players: If you planing to make that change, many player got to rebuild they characters. Maybe got to drop any stat to increase the INT and loosing a huge amount of HP or %.

Anyway, the reasoning you made @TheDiggie to move the spell makes no sense for me at all. The only change you will get, the players will be annoyed..

Thats the point, reflections are to cheap for there power, only ten int which means your basicly stupid if you dont have reflections on anything under a four schooler. Making them take more int to aquire. If people raise there int thats fine if you think reflections is powerful enough to spend 20 int on then clearly you understand its to strong to be level three

Reflection isnt that powerfull to risk that many players get angry about that change and got to spend a lot of time to rebuild. Like is said before, moving a spell is a big change! And if you do it, you have to convinced that it will be better. In my opinion it isnt..

Players are going to get angry, sorry to say but that isn't a concern for development. This server is about change, change for the better. There will always be those who disagree with an idea and there will be those who love it. Reflections is to strong for level three. level three has fives spells vs level fives three spells, one being garbage. Not only do we move a powerful spell to its rightful place but it also makes the levels look better.

Riija 3 is one of the best levels in the game. 10 int for a huge range of powers and abilities, including one of the game's only force multipliers in Reflection, which also protects from targeted spells by adding extra targets around you.

Riija 5 is weak. Evil Twin has been upgraded to be pretty awesome, but Morph and Artifice are just blanks for many characters.

This seems appropriate to me. Reflection really is Riija's flagship ability, on par with Blind and Purge. Spells that do so much need to be level 5 or 6.

From IRC, the percentage of toons that have level 3 in a school and also have level 4 or higher: 78% for Shal, 82% for Kran, 83% for Riija, 85% for Faren, 87% for Qor, 88% for Jala. The number of toons with each school at level 3: 330 Jala, 367 Riija, 426 Qor, 455 Faren, 600 Shal, 1157 Kran.

I agree with this change but not the reasoning regarding "every toon having Riija 3" - if you see a lot of pink cars in one day, it doesn't necessarily mean most cars are pink. FWIW 271 out of the 367 toons that currently have reflection will still have it after the change, so a quarter of them are going to have to modify their build if they still want the spell.

I'm not 100% against this change, but I JUST changed a lot of characters to add riija 3 so would be a rough week or so making every character with reflections into something different, whether that is adding schools or just killing them.

As for balance purposes I can see this being a change that would hurt, but might still benefit the game. Either we go with other routes and nerf reflection (making cc affect minion owner) or this might be the next best option.

Don't think CC affecting minion owner would be viable, it would make minions a liability and add unnecessary complexity. Reflections aren't really unbalanced, it's just no other options are as good and similar to aim/agil on 101, everyone has a stat they can lower (might) to move points to int.

Make might valuable and make 3-schooler builds desirable again, and not everyone will have the points spare to buy Reflection.

I'd be interested in seeing the pool of active PvP chars with reflection, not just all existing chars. The fights I'm witnessing all hinge on dispel and flecs.

I would love to see reflection moved to level 5.

Sooo. The problem with moving this is, if you move it to level 5, you will grant additional levels to characters with the spell and maxed out level count. You will basically have to create a new spell at level five, and delete the old one. Why not make reflection stay as it is, but lower the lvl 3 flecs to like 1hp and then make a level 5 reflection that is better (simulacrum) or something?

Not arguing game mechanics here at all, just logistics.

NVM per Del the solution is the same as the other level moves:

Delete the spell if the character is no longer eligible and grant training points.
