+1000. lol i made this exact same pull like two years ago or more.
Proposed design rule: if your character has the ability to remove Detect Invisibility, it should never be able to also go invisible. It's just way too strong.
+1 It always felt very unfair as well that +karma builds can hunt the ghost and get these while working HP, karma etc... I support this one :D
Yea gar i tryed digging threw all ur pulls to find it but couldnt so i just opend the one. Are we supose to have true and false in all caps del? I notice in some files it is and some arnt
Yeah Diggie all constants should be written in all caps. Some files still contain bad formatting, generally those we haven't modified yet.
If you put karma on an invis ring you might as well just remove it entirely. Di is now instant cast so its not hard to reapply it between dazzles. If this goes forward what about all the red shal pkers? do they just have to take a death to go white since whats the point of pking if you cant invis.
Other stealth modes can be implemented that aren't necessarily Invisibility. For example, there's long been talk of a Banditry or Thievery school that contains skills like Sneak and Hide. These would enable you to sneak up on a target - just not so ubiquitously as invisibility, which is monstrously strong when combined with purge. For example, the Hide concept removes your dot from the minimap. You're still visible in a person's view area, but that requires them to actively look around for you. Unsuspecting victims and noobs will be vulnerable in a new way that doesn't leave them feeling completely helpless.
Meanwhile, a ring of invisibility is still useful to Qors and Karmaless characters who can't easily purge and who have various uses for it (silent invis, unpurgeable invis, etc)
As i stated befor, shal'ille is a school of good, shouldn't be pking in the first place. So your concern about shal pkers does not concern me.
If anything it helps put shal more on the good side.
Add karma restrictions to invis ring
