CC1.6, OpenP updated: http://paste.ee/p/ZLN1e

CC1.6, OpenP not updated: http://paste.ee/p/cBhIO

Versions listed in crash log

How to reproduce: place peripheral proxy next to advanced computer (not tested with normal computer)

boq commented 10 years ago

Well, you basically discovered that OP for CC versions older than CC1.6 doesn't work with CC1.6. Oh my, looks like our mod doesn't work out of box with other mod that just had huge overhaul. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

...

We already have CC1.6 version, but it's not released yet. We are not sure when to do it, since there will be tons of compatibility reports with older version when we do it.

I am sorry. Version numbers on the webpage matched those on the jenkins, so i used those from the webpage. Webpage also does not contain a single timestamp, telling me when the release was made. For all i knew, that release came today.

Anyway, is there a way to compleetly disable peripheral proxy?

boq commented 10 years ago

Disabling peripheral proxy won't help, since other parts of mods also use old API. They are just failing silently, with logs or just do nothing (IIRC CC 1.6 stubbed old API). That one crash slipped, but that's already fixed.

Currently, only version that works is available from Jenkins - but they are not fully tested yet.

I'm fully aware of the API change, and just wish to update CC without losing the blocks & items. I'll have to go try the Jenkins builds then. Anything to watch out for there in the recent builds of any of the mods?

Yes. Currently OpenBlock integration is broken, especially turtles. We are not sure how to resolve that one yet, without forcing all users to update to CC1.6
