Suggestion! Turret ideas #469

First of all I really like this mod.

Here are some ideas for some turrets that would be easy to make and work well with the others. Tesla Turret that zaps Mobs.

Arrow Turret that shoots arrows? (MC arrows and with effects effect)

A potion Launcher that shoots Minecraft potions

Slow turrets that freeze mobs slowing them.

A heavy rocket turret that opens up like a silo shoots one big rocket that explodes aoe style (no ground dmg config)

Turret base push/shocks mobs to prevent mobs standing onto of them where the towers can’t hit them

There are so many tower defense games out there you could get ideas from XD.

Also when will the 1.12.2 update be? Really want to implement the new laser style and config to my pack once it gets release version.

Well the problem with new turrets is that I am a terrible artist/modeler. We currently need at least a modeler for the new turrets. The suggestions are nice, and I might be able to implement some of those, but it might take some time.

The 3.1.0 update will be finished once I have completed the new GUI for the trusted player system.

Well to simply implement a function you can take an already existing base model and recolor it a bit as well as maybe add like a random accessory thing like a few rods coming out o fit or a bigger / smaller barrel / dual barrel.

And then later make them look better when you have a professional modeler. To actually find a Meodeler you can for example implement a book/tutorial note to the pack where at the end you give your discord link telling people he come join me if you like the mod and want it to look better etc.

Or simple make requests for modelers on the forum and ask around I did that some time back when I did some project (not for mine craft thought)

There is also the option to just “copy” ideas from all the million tower defense games out there take a look at sanctum 2 for example and just copy them (in block style).

Well anyway good luck your mod is a core defense system for my Modpack that has various invasions and stuff going on XD. Works great. (And an option to ad an entity target list would be nice thought to specify what mob “Minecraft:zombie or Embers:ancientgolem” ) the turrets can attack so I could list all the mobs I want them to attack in the options for my pack instead of having them attack just hostiles or attack mobs they shouldn’t attack (tamed ex bad mobs)

The list for attackable is coming in the config later on.

Some low tech or melee style turrets would be pretty neat too. I know Techguns has like a jackhammer turret thing. Could do something like the spinning blade trap from 7 Days to Die, or a flail that inflicts knockback+knockup... Would help during the early game in packs like mine or Rebirth of the Night, the horde survival styles with Zombie Awareness and Epic Siege Mod.
