Scanning works, printing fails using ipp-usb, with Ubuntu 20.04 and libreboot on a Lenovo Thinkpad X220i, with a Canon MX310, OR a Canon MP530 printer. #74

Using ipp-usb, with Ubuntu 20.04 and libreboot on a Lenovo Thinkpad X220i, with a Canon MX310, OR a Canon MP530, I can scan but not print. Would you help me diagnose and fix the printing?

With a terminal open, I get this curious set of messages: brian@Brian-X220:$ sudo ipp-usb status Get "http://localhost/status": ipp-usb daemon not running brian@Brian-X220:$ sudo ipp-usb standalone ipp-usb already running brian@Brian-X220:$ sudo ipp-usb standalone -bg ipp-usb already running brian@Brian-X220:$ sudo ipp-usb status Get "http://localhost/status": ipp-usb daemon not running Would you explain this apparent contradiction in statuses?

Apparently Canon MMP530 has a interface spec of 7/1/2, not 7/1/4 Any way to work around this?

Hi @briancady413,

looks like none of these devices implement IPP over USB protocol (7/1/4). So this issue is not related to this project. ipp-usb is not a kind of universal printing daemon, it only adds IPP over USB support.

Most likely, the rights project to send issues to is the CUPS project: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups
