Below are the optimization tips from Tony. I'll work through this in the near future.
Please also note that WP Engine's new Advanced Network works directly with
Cloudflare anyway. They've jettisoned MaxCDN in favor of Cloudflare. You'll
want to make sure in Cloudflare that you've checked the optimization
settings and you want to force https, as well.
You can install the Cloudflare plugin for WordPress and connect your
Cloudflare account to WordPress that way, as well. I'm not sure if that's
necessary nowadays, but I do it anyway just to ensure I have it all working
correctly. You'll need to get the API key from Cloudflare to activate the
plugin connection.
There are also WordPress Page Rules that you can activate in Cloudflare to
optimize Cloudflare for WordPress. You'll want to Google that and get the
best-recommended page rule settings for WordPress and Cloudflare. For
example, you don't want to cache that admin system, so you'll set a page
rule to take care that among other things.
