A paragraph about SCE in DataStreams #116

Open isimluk opened 8 years ago

OpenSCAP allows SCE scripts to be part of Source DataStream. This is very powerful, because it allows you to create single datastream full of scripts. We should advertise/describe this feature.

The bottom of https://www-rhopenscap.rhcloud.com/features/other-standards/sce/ seems a good place to start.

Re-opening. I think there is missing some useful info here. This is low priority however.

I think we should include oscap command to create datastream from list of XCCDF and SCE files. I hope there is a test for this. Something like oscap ds sds-compose XCCDF.

I know that Martin has patched SDS schema files to allow SCE to be included. We should promote this extension on SCE page, so other vendors have a chance to find this solution.

I am sorry, I don't know all the details.

So maybe @mpreisler could provide more information about it. Please, do you have some example XCCDF content for this feature?

mpreisler commented 8 years ago

@jan-cerny oscap ds sds-compose should pick the scripts up and include them in the datastream automatically. Did you encounter issues when trying that?

jan-cerny commented 8 years ago

I hadn't had any experience with the SCE datastream feature before. That's why I have asked Martin for example XCCDF content. However, when I was working on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1275369, I got familiar with this feature. And yes, I have encountered issue https://github.com/OpenSCAP/openscap/issues/230 :-)

:-)))

This is valid, but not a priority right now.

isimluk commented 6 years ago

Yes. I agree.

This not meant to be offence @yuumasato! Just seeing replies "makes sense / still valid" on tickets I filed ages ago remind me this great strip. Hopefully it makes you smile as well!

Keep up the good work!
