"Your Cue to Rest" Intro Workshop #121

Session Name "Your Cue to Rest" Intro Workshop

Abstract Come and try out a game of pool at root cove, where we take a chill pill from hectic studies. Learn from friendly old-timers who are always around to guide. Whether you are looking for to pick up a new skill or hone an existing one. Everyone is welcomed.

Event Format Physical

Session intent (what to expect) An introductory game of pool, or an effective remedial lesson for vectors physics, elastic collision, and some stuff. Participants will learn breaking and straight shots. Additional guidance can be given if participants are interested in bank, kick, draw, and follow shots with an importance on applied side-spins and angles. Participants should come with a sense of confidence, and slight enthusiasm.

Session details Week 1 (13, 15, 17th Sep) & Week 2 (20, 22, 24th Sep) Mon-Wed-Fri 6pm – 10pm @ Root Cove Side Note: 15th Sep (Wed) will only have one session of 2hrs from 6pm - 8pm to account for your mandatory hostel session afterwards.

2hrs per session 2-4 participants per session

Speakers/Workshop facilitators 1 facilitator per session Joshua Tan - before SUTD he had self-taught himself at pool halls and has a good understanding of mistakes beginner make or habits created from being self-taught. Is new to the world of more competitive pool but is perfect for teaching beginner how to be more confident.

Just to check, has cue sports club already booked the root cove for use during those dates/times?

Hi @ExtremelySunnyYK ,

Yes we are cleared to use the pool area section of root cove for all weekdays from 3pm-10pm

Hey @HASSRaccoon, just a heads up. The school admin has advised that all DiscoverSUTD events should not be held after Fridays 6pm so we won't be helping to advertise your event on the 17th and 24th on our website. Do feel free to continue hosting it for your club members though.

Hi, could I clarify

  1. Total attendees: 2-4 participants + 1 facil ?
  2. Please note that there is a Mandatory Hostel session on 15 Sept 8:00pm - 9:45 pm. This clash with your event 15 Sept 6:00pm- 10:00pm. Could I have the team let me know if you'll explore another date?

Would be great if you could let me know by today.

Hey @HASSRaccoon Just some feedback from our team that for your sign-up form. Do use the DiscoverSUTD form template which includes the PDPA clause.

Hi all, so sorry we have created a telegram bot for our sign ups (PDPA format included) for easier management of registration on our end
