SUTDCO Introductory Session

We will be conducting an Introductory Session to expose members of the SUTD community to a few basics of playing a Chinese instrument, and let them know more about SUTDCO.

Brought to you by SUTD Chinese Orchestra (SUTDCO)

Session intent (what to expect) • They will be given a brief introduction to SUTDCO and get to try out various instruments available to learn. At the end of the try-out segment, participants will choose an instrument to work on for the session. • After deciding on an instrument, they will learn to play a simple piece with the guidance of our professional instructors. • Towards the end of the session, participants will perform the piece together. There will be a SUTDCO member signup form for those participants who are interested to continue learning. • There is no pre-requisite knowledge or skills required as we welcome beginners.

Session details Venue: MR1 Date: Time: 7.30pm to 9.30pm Up to 20 participants only

Speakers/Workshop facilitators SUTDCO instructors will be the ones conducting the workshop, and SUTDCO members will be around to help out.

Logistical details Bubble tea for all the participants at the end of the session.

would you like a name for your session? other than "SUTDCO introductory session", something that captures what you're trying to do.

Also, where is MR1 and what date would you be holding this session? do refer to https://open.sutd.dev/discovery-week-working-title/proposal_details/ for the dates that are available for fifth row sessions

@Fishbiscuit Apologies for the late reply. We will change our session name to "Discovering Chinese Orchestra". MR1 is at Sports & Recreation Centre Level 2, we have fixed bookings of MR1 every Monday. Our proposed date would be 27 May, 6pm - 9pm. Thank you!

Sorry, are we able to change our timing to 7.30pm - 10pm? The cluster rep mentioned to us that we are unable to have our session beyond 9pm but a few of the fifth rows have their sessions after 9 as well. Most of our members will be on internship so 7.30pm would be a better timing.

Another thing, I have checked the discovery calendar and our session was listed under 30 may instead of 27 may?

hello, we will put you down for the session but there will also be supper during that time which we expect freshies to go for.
