Session Name

Waltzing into University

Abstract

We will teach participants the basics of standard ballroom dance (waltz), which they can apply in social dance settings. A taste of standard ballroom dance that is different from our usual competition practice sessions.

Session intent (what to expect)

Session details

We are expecting 10-15 participants, and will be holding the session at Dance Studios 3-5 (our usual location). It will most likely be held from 7-9pm (wednesday or friday, but for intro session, most likely wednesday).

Speakers/Workshop facilitators

We will be getting SUTD alumni to teach the steps and introduce the club to the Freshies, and if provided with the funds, will also ask our coach to give a formal workshop. It would be best if the coach come down for the session so that the Freshies can also be inspired by his experiences and skills.

Logistical details

Our ballroom dance coach has a rate of $150/hour, and for a 2-hour session, it would cost $300. sutdballroomdance@sutd.edu.sg

We're planning to hold our first intro session on 7th June, as the club members have to prepare for FIC performance before that and thus will be unavailable to hold the session anytime earlier.

I've spoken to OSA and I'm sorry but the cost per pax is too high for finance to justify releasing funds. There would be some difficulty providing a budget from our side for your event at $300, please allow me to apologise for not being able to help for this case

Hi okay so i just saw the calendar for the discovery week sessions, and we would like to make some changes:

there will only be one session from us that will be on 7 June, and our coach will be coming down to conduct that session. The rock n roll session will be postponed to another date (we wont include it in discovery week) Thanks for helping us make the changes!!

I think session 2's information can be deleted, since we will hold it after discovery week. Could you also help us add that our coach will be coming down to give a formal introduction? Thank you!
