What hardware are you using, what software? Did you follow the docs on the Openscan website? Did you provide the wpa_supplicant.conf file to the RPi configuration folder and you are sure that the credentials are correct? Did you try wired (ethernet) connection? Did you try pinging your device? What address are you connecting?

OpenScanFan commented 2 years ago

Been using it for weeks now, it just suddenly stopped being detected from today Using Ethernet Using Beta+Arducam Don't know how to ping Have no idea how to check address

The docu for the RPi version is here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dsRXQuZrLWvM27U1WFC0Ot8rcSIoJQud The IP scanning procedure is described in chapter 2.2.3. First I'd check whether the OpenScan is visible in your network. If so, I'd try connecting to it using it's IP (you don't need to specify the port in IP address if you have the newest software) - for some reason my phone browser refused to connect using "openscan/" and I have to connect using IP when I'm connecting from it. Maybe you could try switching to WiFi (as described in the docu)?

Hey Sokol, thanks for trying to help, but like I said I have been using it everyday for weeks, no problems at all...just TODAY it went offline. That documentation is old, the wpa_supplicant.conf file is no longer present in the boot directory

Used the Angry IP Scanner, cant seem to find the PI...hmmm...

oh, and the Pi has never been visible in my network

The wpa_supplicant should be added and edited manually (it should have your WiFi credentials) as described in the docs. The template can be downloaded from the project google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1V_viMNELEG5r0Spcr9WuQKSPY0RPLPbV Hard to tell why it's not reachable, maybe something caused some kind of a crash - do you have any signs of live from the scanner (lights flashing, etc)? How are you connecting to it? Scanner to the internet router or directly to your computer? If the RPi isn't reachable in any way maybe something wrong happened to the uSD card with the OS, you could try flashing the image to another card booting from it and trying to connect the scanner to check this. Have you updated something befored it stopped working? Windows, Scanner OS or something?

GOT IT TO WORK!!!!!!! I am literally dancing for joy over here, thank you so much Sokol

I put the WPA file into the boot directory, loaded up Angry IP Scanner, found the openscanner, but didnt have to do anything else after that, just typed in openscan into the browser and BAM! it was there

Thanks again mate
