To me it looks like "lateral unknown" translation to "abstand unbekend" seems wrong. As you translates it seems to me meaning "unknown distance" or "unknown separation", while you probably should try something like "unknown side"
Hello, do you speak German? That's correct, it is a wrong translation. Is "lateral_unknown" = unknown side to understand? Then is the correct translation "seite unbekannt" (side unknown)
XPcRUSHER,
Is German your first language? If so, would you be prepared contribute all the DE translations for this preset? If you need assistance with some of the semantics, then these would best be resolved by posting questions in our developer mailing list, where a number of other native German speakers participate. (openseamap-develop@lists.sourceforge.net)
Regards, Malcolm
Unfortunately not German speaker, but my native Norwegian have many similarities with German.
Lateral in this concept is "side of navigational channel or lead", so "side unknown" would be a better translation.
Thanks Skippern for the information. I would like a korrect translation, thanks for help. I overwrite this in next time, or give the XML not free. I have the XML on my Webserver copyed for testing and fixing in JOSM.
@Malcolmh, thanks for the information.
Have a nice day. Stefan
Stefan,
There is no need to save the original, as these can always be retrieved using Git tools. The preset sources are UTF-8 coded, so you can use "ü" rahter than "ue" I have merged your first pull request. Perhaps you can submit another that addresses the issues raised by Aun.
Malcolm
@malcolmh Sorry, i don't known have the big totalling functionality of github. I have seen, i have "ä" in the translation and is correct in JOSM to see. Thanks for pull request.
I translate the Preset on next time. I would like the Preset from Padde into your Preset. Padde's Preset, i have edited for my private using, have i on my webserver. You can view on it and you can me say to take in to your preset. (http://dbtek.de/josm/Seamark_Preset.xml) What is beter as symbol? SVG or PNG?
Stefan
I translate the Preset on next time. The priority order for translations is:
- name="..." in
& - headers
- text="..." in
- text="..." in s
- text="..." in
& headers. - everything else!
I would like the Preset from Padde into your Preset. These are all already included (e.g. Q->Notice Boards->CEVNI)
What is beter as symbol? SVG or PNG? SVG icons are specifically for this preset. The PNG symbols are only used in the watersport presets.
When adding SVG icons try maintaining the folder and name structure, if any doubt, please contact me

Aaaahh... Sorry, i don't see this, it is a little bit hidden. Great work!!! I trying the order observed.
I can but start the translation on some such Header? I would like start on important Header's, for germans sea and rivers. Than work forward to the other headers. I hope i can fill so many TEXT tags.
Best regards. Stefan

It is worthwhile to download INT-1 (http://www.iho.int/iho_pubs/standard/S-4/INT1_FR_Ed5_2012.pdf). Then where you find marks in that document, you will find them in the preset with the same section letter & number.=
The original INT-1 preset file was made to follow the exact logic of national INT-1 symbol catalogues
