Unfortunately this issue doesn't have a description that is useful to anyone who wasn't involved initially.
Seit irgendwann 2013 die Hafen-DB abgestürzt war, werden keine WPI-Daten mehr angezeigt.
Since the Harbour DB crashed in 2013, no WPI data is shown on the map any more.
Der Issue ist eigentlich ein von SF übernommener Bug.
This issue has been migrated from SourceForge. (Which ID did it have there?!)
Bitte bei Dominik nachfragen, ob was er da schon gemacht hat. Dann kann man vielleicht darauf aufbauen.
Dominik should be contacted to figure out if he already did work on this, that could possibly be reused.
Contacted @dfa via PM to see if there has been work done on this issue already. No answer yet.
Further information: World Port Index (WPI) data is published by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency:
The database itself is in MS-Access format, which can be processed using the mdbtools.
There is a corresponding thread from 2013-11 on the "devel" mailing list.
There is another related thread from 2014-09 that stronlgy suggests to coordinate this stuff also with Peter (from skipperguide.de) and Malcolm.

See: Harbour-Layer and a lot more stuff (English and German) Aim: merging several harbour DB (WPI, OSM, SG, WD, etc.)
Maintainer wanted. Every help is welcome :-)
In OSM data, need to add a unique ID to one of these databases. e.g. ref:WPI=38810 for Marseille (because OSM nodes ID are not permanent).
I would suggest we close this issue -- reimplementing the harbour DB does not seem to fall into the purview of the online chart per se.
Dominik is working on a solution :-)
