If there are unvalidated events in the remote database, the data sharing notification is displayed to prompt the user. This notification appears to be removed and re-generated periodically. If users do not have silent notifications, this could be annoying, rather than being the helpful prompt that was intended.
Options are to give the user the ability to suppress the data sharing notification, or make sure that we do not re-generate it if it already exists.
