flake8 #139

We want to use http://flake8.pycqa.org/en/latest/# to enforce a common coding style. Please check out its online documentation and try to fix as many of the issues that are detected as you thing are reasonable. Then I will work on the finishing configuration which I already started in the setup.cfg file. Later, we will enfore this fully as part of travis builds to pass. Note, that you can also run these checks inside pycharm.

I went through the motions for trempy here https://github.com/briqInstitute/trempy, for reference on how to implement this.
