[ ] Execute notebooks as part of the build, fix errors and warnings
[ ] Check for remaining outdated issues

Why would we switch to jupyterbook? If you invest time I would align the documentation infrastructure with optimagic.

Because I am using it all the time and it would free up space in my brain occupied by a mental model of Sphinx, once JB 2.0 has arrived in a stable fashion. Definitely not on my immediate horizon, though.
