I haven't used L4D in server mode in forever. How does it work on a LAN? iirc you can't join via lobby, but it shows up on the main menu?

The wonkiness is that you can't really join the server in the game. The game lobby doesn't work and there really isn't a great way to make use of it other than connecting directly via console or via the Server Browser and looking at the LAN tab.

There definitely is an way to make a group gaming server, but I didn't put the time into making that a reality, possible that might be the right answer, but hey, we had to game at some point instead of docker-ize everything!
