Paul Willis to Provide Experimental Methodology for AZ THP1 cytotox assay #264

Open mattodd opened 10 years ago

mattodd commented 10 years ago

AstraZeneca recently provided hERG data for some members of Series 4. http://malaria.ourexperiment.org/biological_data/11081 The assay uses methodology described in this paper: 10.1016/j.vascn.2006.02.003 The THP1 cyctotox assay requires a protocol so we can write up the work. @PaulWillisMMV to chase this, after which it will be posted to the lab notebook.

Hi @mattodd and @PaulWillisMMV we could really do with this protocol asap as @JoannaUbels and @tscmacdonald need to include details in their theses (due very soon!) Thanks, Alice

I will ask AZ again for their protocol. In the event that It does not arrive in time I would suggest just leaving this cytotoxicity data out of the thesis. I would not see it as essential information for a chemistry based thesis

Thanks for chasing, guys. If it's strongly related to a published method, we can just cite a paper, too.

The scientist is on holiday so the protocol will not be available any time soon. I do not know which method they used to determine cell viability so cannot reference a paper. I strongly suggest that this assay is not key in the great work carried out for the thesis and that there will be no impact on the overall conclusions if the assay result is omitted

Hi @mattodd @PaulWillisMMV do we have any news on the assay - just updating the wiki, and this would be good to have. Cheers Alice
