Veranda: Building a custom aPaaS using Dropwizard, Docker-Client, and Docker #21

"Veranda" is Guidewire Software's "low availability" cluster manager (working its way through our internal open-source process) used by "Backyard", our self-service product deployment tool. It's based on Dropwizard, and uses Docker for deployments, where we use Spotify's Docker-Client to control Docker.

This a story of what happens when one tries to adopt open-source that either turns out to be a not-so-good fit, or the timing is bad. It's a tale of elation, frustration, sunk-cost fallacies, and finally acceptance. The story's not over yet, but things are looking up.

+1 Sounds interesting! You will have a total of 10 min to give your talk and have Q&A. I look forward to it.
