Nice idea, you can just remove a company (if it is multiplayer mode). Just Toggle the Console on and type companies. After typing companies, you will see the list of companies. Note the number of the company you wish to delete. Then type reset_company <Company's number>
Example: # :1(Grey) Company Name:'The Government' Year Founded 2011 Money: 1514395860 Loan:0 Value: 1514398360 (T:0, R:0, P:0, S:0) unprotected # :2(Red) Company Name:'SMRT Corporation' Year Founded: 2011 Money: 6153694462 Loan:0 Value: 6154052647 (T:4, R:1, P:0, S:0) unprotected
Then type reset_company 2
After doing so, SMRT Corporation will be shown bankrupt and a message will pop up to announce that SMRT Corporation has declared bankruptcy.

Yes removing the company works when an admin is online, but I still get a lot of people ask if they can sell their company when they have a good income, and my second idea came from people letting people into their company who then change the password.

You should not worry if you are the server. I have tried to join companies which are protected and had succeeded. After I join a company, I can change the company's password. Make full sure to check if no one except you is in the company. Although even there are players inside a company, you can change the password, but they still have rights to change your password.

If you mean by selling, I take it that you could use a company to buy shares from the company you wish to sell.
I am just a ordinary user, not a administrator or developer. I am just here to give ideas and suggestions for you. LOL

When I say "sell" I mean sell like the game does when you go into debt with a loan. and I don't host my server on my computer, I have a headless Ubuntu server that I run my OpenTTD server on, and rcon commands can be a pain in the rear end for me.
(Would of responded sooner but I broke my email server and only just got a reply email neow)

:P, why didn't you buy Windows XP, Vista or 7? They are much more productive and supported by the OpenTTD team.

I do own, Windows XP and Windows 7. But they are not server operating system, and when it comes to hosting websites, email and svn repositories. 99% of the time you have to pay for the require programs, and I support Open Source hence why I use Ubuntu as much as I can.
And OpenTTD Does support Linux, As well as Mac OSX, Just go to the downloads page and change the left drop down to openttd-x.x.x-linux and you will see a list of .deb files.

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Changing the way companies work in multiplayer is not a current goal for OpenTTD.
Flyspray clean up: more than 5 years old, and not obvious what should be done with this next, so closing. If this offends, discuss with andythenorth in irc. Thanks for the suggestions.
