SWOP: Leadership report #7

Open cecilia-donnelly opened 10 years ago

cecilia-donnelly commented 10 years ago

Again, I began this report in the CH development site, but it wasn't approved in time for the hosting transition.

Sarah's description: As we were completing the LISC quarterly evaluation, we realized that we are unable to pull information in a report about an individual's participation and leadership qualities. For example, I cannot pull a report of all participants who attended an event/action within the past month, a report of all primary (or secondary, tertiary) leaders within an institution, etc. Being able to identify leadership development is crucial to our organizing efforts, so we'd like to be able to quickly identify leadership trajectories among pool participants.

  1. total number and list of names of people who: a. have attended a certain number of events b. have attended one or more events within a date range c. are 1/2/3 leaders d. are 1/2/3/ leaders associated with a certain institution

We are still waiting for more feedback from Sarah, but I expect she'll also want to include:

How many leaders (primary/secondary/teritiary) does each institution have and how has that composition changed within a specified date range?
How many events have our primary (or secondary, tertiary, nonspecified) leaders been to in a specified date range?
How many primary/secondary/tertiary leaders have been developed within a specified date range, how has that changed?
How has each individual developed as a leader? How many events have they attended and what was their role in those events? When did they become a primary/secondary/tertiary leader?

Taryn to look at Sarah's email and summarize what she (Taryn) thinks is the new feature here.

Taryn: this is priority 1 (after help page) Continue on this per Sarah's email: " Leadership Reports Sarah Lyn Jones Wed 5/28/2014 4:06 PM To: Donnelly, Cecilia; Taryn Roch David McDowell Greetings Cecilia,

I know you're probably busy today moving all the data over from one site to another, I hope it goes smoothly!

The data transfer gave me the opportunity to play around a little bit more with the leadership development reports on the development site and confer with David about how those reports will be used. Here are a few recommendations:

We would like a way to generate a leadership report with all the information rather easily; would it be possible to include a "check-all" option?
We would like to be able to see which leaders have been performing specific roles at actions. Right now, we can see how many actions a leader has attended, but not how they participated (testimony, moderator, floor team, etc.). Additionally, we'd like to be able to see if they performed exceptionally on the leadership report.
We assume that when the leadership report feature is added to the real-information database, that the results will be exportable, but it would be good to have confirmation.

There are some minor kinks that still need to be worked out in the larger database as well, but these aren't a huge priority right now

On the reports section, we would like a "check all" option when prompted to choose info boxes
On the campaigns section, we would like to be able to add/edit subcampaigns without adding another event first. Right now I can only add a subcampaign if I add a new one; there's no way to add or edit the subcampaign when looking a specific event's profile "

Oooookay. A version of this is actually already live on the new production site, which is fine. It definitely still needs work, but all of my commits from CH's repo are included in the master branch (I thought this might be the case, but now we know). I will branch this next week. I don't think we need to remove the interim report from the production site -- it doesn't have an effect on anything else and they probably aren't using it yet.
