Currently a user has to register or sign in to be able to see the address search box. However, it is likely that the first thing a user whats to do is search for hydrants. Maybe we should display the search box first, then prompt users to sign up/in when they want to adopt a hydrant.
Some ideas:
The sidebar should default to displaying the location search box, with register and sign in buttons below.
A pop-up prompts the user to enter an address when they first visit the site
