I have an Raspberry4 with Raspberry OS 64 bit, is still in beta https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/latest-raspberry-pi-os-update-may-2020/ but i try to compile openvpn-build with IMAGEROOT=pwd/image-native ./build

it hang on openssl compilation:

Build openssl

NOTE: If in doubt, on Unix-ish systems use './config'.
FATAL: Configure openssl
 $ uname -m
aarch64

If there are something i can try, if anyone have a patch that can fix it, i can give a feedback. With the same options, i also compile openvpn-build with a RPI4 32 bit (armv7l) without any issue, the issue looks like a non-managed aarch64 architecture, but i don't honestly understand how to fix it.

Clodo76 commented 3 years ago

Same happen with Apple macBook M1, "uname -m"="arm64", somewhere compute "darwin-error" and openssl stop.

We have decided to remove the nsis/mingw buildsystem since it is not maintained anymore. Only the msi/msvc buildsystem will remain, unless someone steps up to maintain the other parts. This issue will be closed when the removal actually happens.

Moving the MinGW builds of OpenVPN to use CMake+VCPKG. Support is already in master and will be backported to release/2.6. There is definitely no plan to address this in the context of "generic". So closing this issue.
