v3.14.5 - openAM issue - using disk space #279

There is a problem with files in the OpenAM system /home/openam/openam/stats directory? there do not seem to be any management controls to prevent them from getting too large. They will eventually use up the available disk space and kill the system. these files seem to hold info going back to when the system was installed in 2016, and has been reporting every day since. Why? And how can we fix this?

At the moment we have the follwoing in this directory: /home/openam/openam/stats]$ ls -lh total 1.7G -rw-r--r--. 1 tomcat tomcat 152M Jan 22 08:19 amMasterSessionTableStats -rw-r--r--. 1 tomcat tomcat 840M Jan 22 08:19 amPolicyStats -rw-r--r--. 1 tomcat tomcat 262M Jan 22 08:19 Entitlements -rw-r--r--. 1 tomcat tomcat 443M Jan 22 08:19 idRepoCacheStat

I was unable to find out any info about these files but have found a known issue about the lack of documentation for this directory: https://bugster.forgerock.org/jira/browse/OPENAM-6002 so not surprised I could find out any info online

Behaviour not observed by KMA who are running 3.14.8 ...

@benjaminsaclier suggests this may be a configuration issue

Hi Dom,

We observe the same behaviour on our stat files (but log since 2012 !!!)

The way of clearing these files is available here : https://backstage.forgerock.com/knowledge/kb/article/a56408795

It seems possible to stop logging the stats : https://backstage.forgerock.com/knowledge/kb/article/a54187838

We should check if these actions are ok and in that case update OpenWIS administration documentation for these points .

whilst i'm waiting (still waiting) for my systems to be available, could Benjamin add comment on this 'fix' on the version installed at MF?

@yvesgoupil @davidpodeur -- Do you know if the fix identified by Benjamin is still in place in MF? What action(s) need to be taken to get closure on this ticket?
