The older version of Font Awesome uses the antiquated way of using icons in an Angular application. Upgrading to version 6+ will use the official Angular way as an npm package provided by Font Awesome itself.

Font Awesome has been successfully updated to the latest version. Font Awesome also has it's own Angular npm package that is now being used to display the icons the Angular way. Closing this issue.
