The recommended values for filetype is limited. No PNG for instance.

No standardized way to capture CC-By.

There is now a standardized to capture CC-By licensing, and you can now manually type "PNG".

However it isn't amongst the default options.

Fixed in 6e3725d4743e4d07bff6632a8a3fdcd0590f48c3 (with other junk I forgot I hadn't committed), by editing $schema/plugin/iso19115-3.2018/loc/*/labels.xml entry for mcc:fileType to include <option value="PNG">PNG</option>.
