Hi @stevenuecke / @andyeck1, (ping @kraut34)

Was wondering if you could help sizing and verifying the structural components of the (3) various enclosure assemblies for this sports complex.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks Much, Ryan

Hi @andyeck1, i'd say this in next priority. Thanks Much, Ryan

Just a couple thoughts on the wall components. I would like to use glass rock if at all possible on the exterior portion of the resin panels. Also, after talking with Todd on the interior finishes, we want to use interior resin panels instead of plywood. Obviously we need to see if can span far enough and remain rigid, or figure out a quick inexpensive way to block the areas where it would be spanning too far.

Ryan, do you want me to contact the rep about the interior panels?

@andyeck1,

Had a chat with Toby, as he indicated, he'd like to explore using 'glass rock' on the exterior of (1a - Resin Panel Wall) assembly. Would this be doable without vertical blocking between hort. girts if we engaged the exterior C channels for wind loading?

Also, as indicated, they are looking to use Stonewood™ Interior Architectural Panels for the interior panels, verse plywood. As I'm pretty confident, no matter the thickness of this product, that it will not hold up to 4ft o.c. spacing at the hort. girts, Toby was wondering if we could use vertical 'coil straps' 16" or 24" o.c. to provide sufficient rigidity. That or a sandwich system, with something like 1/2" plywood under the interior resin panel.

Go Here for Flexural Strength, Flexural Modulus, Tensile Modulus of these interior panels.

And Here for exterior panels.

Thanks Much.

@andyeck1

Strike the request to explore using the resin panels on the interior. Too expensive.

Would still, however, like to explore 'glass rock' on the exterior.

Thanks, Ryan

@theoryshaw We designed the furring channels to support the exterior plywood and it can be either a 162S125-33 (1-5/8" C stud w/ 1.25 flange by 33 mils - no punchouts allowed) or a Dietrich Furring/Hat channel - 150F125-43 (1-1/2" furring channel by 18 ga ).

Thanks Andy. By engaging these channels, can we use exterior Denslgass or similar?

Thanks Ryan. What is glass rock?

theoryshaw commented 9 years ago

Densglass material, basically.

Hi @andyeck1

Did you find some resolution on the exterior sheathing approach for the resin panel wall?

Also could you help size the steel angle holding up the polycarbonate

I had a question from Kurt Shiel at Jefferson Glass. He was wondering if the polycarbonate came all the way down to the metal roof on the field house above the single story areas. It couldn't tell from the print.
