Reducing floor slab thickness in certain areas... #70

Hey Guys,

They'd like to put radiant heat at the main locker rooms and entry vestibules. With that, they'd like to reduce the slab in those areas to 4" (with 2" of extruded polystyrene below).

Just wanted to verify, if structurally, this will be okay?

Yes, the slab on grade can be reduced to 4" in the single story. Please note that we utilized 6" SOG at the column piers. We need 6" SOG in a 3'-0" radius around the column piers and then 4" SOG beyond that.
