Hi @Openscapes/2023-fred-hutch-cohort ! (see how I tagged you there?)
It was great to see so many of your faces with cameras on! We just touched the tip of the iceberg that is GitHub. Thank you for your willingness to try things and ask questions. Below is a light digest of Call 02 with a reminder of tasks for next time.
Now that we’ve practiced using GitHub Issues, we’ll be posting Cohort Call Digests here and not emailing them 😁 ... though by tagging our Cohort team, you should receive an email notification. Try clicking on the Digest issue label; it will show only the issues that have that label. Maybe add an emoji, or reply with a question.
It can be hard to know where to start in skilling up with GitHub. Your team’s Seaside Chat is a great place to talk about what your next step could be using the Pathway sheet as a guide.
Wishing you a week of helpful commits and well-managed issues!
Goals: We practiced GitHub hands-on for collaborative research through publication and project management, from the browser. A brief time together to get hands-on experience and experiment.
Tasks: please see the Agenda doc (under Closing) for details and links
Have a Seaside Chat with your research group to explore/practice GitHub
(optional) Attend Coworking in the weeks between Cohort Calls, Tuesdays, 2:00 - 3:00 pm PT. Come get your own work done, ask questions, or listen in to other conversations. You could also use the time to hold your team Seaside Chat.

Great Team collaboration in issues!
We talked about how to collaborate and get out of sticky situations
