Hi @erinmr I've just created an Openscapes Zotero library and ported references from Lowndes et al 2017 and some additional ones; more to do especially with organizing and adding tags but it's a start 🤓
I also linked to it from:
Will you add @.*** to zotero too? Thanks! 🤓

Motivation: I wanted to annotate papers on my ipad and keep them organized in Zotero (without printing a million pages). This process allows me to find references on my desktop, save them in Zotero and attach a pdf, send the pdf to my iPad to read/annotate and send back to Zotero to extract highlighted annotations.
This is a picture of my workflow >
Prerequisites : I use Zotero to manage my references. I had a Zotero account, installed the desktop version of Zotero and had migrated my references to Zotero. I also had downloaded Goodreader to my iPad and checked that I could access files in my icloud folder between my iPad and desktop.
To get started: I installed ZotFile followed these instructions
Clarifying Notes:
Annotating/Reading on iPad:
Awesome @erinmr I'm excited to try this.
One question/opinion I'm curious about re: iCloud. I don't currently use iCloud for anything; would you recommend I use it here anyways to sync like you have, or would Google Drive be as effective? Why did you choose iCloud over Google Drive/other options?

To get started: I installed ZotFile http://zotfile.com/ followed these instructions https://www.researchgate.net/publication/325828616_Tutorial_The_Best_Reference_Manager_Setup_Zotero_ZotFile_Cloud_Storage
Clarifying Notes:
- I used iCloud for my cloud storage
- Source folder - download folder
- Location of Files = icloud and under tablet settings location of files = icloud
- Follow the steps to turn of sync under Zotero settings
Annotating/Reading on iPad:
- In desktop Zotero > right click on file > manage attachment > Send file to tablet from desktop (this moves file to the icloud folder)
- Open file in iCloud files on tablet
- Choose Open with Goodreader https://goodreader.com/ and choose to keep file in place
- Annotate/read
- Go back to desktop > manage attachment > get from tablet (Brings it back to Zotero) and extracts annotations all at once

I used icloud b/c I needed a folder on my computer and already had that. I don't have Google Drive or Dropbox installed on my computer to access files, I just use the browser.

And to build directly into the Lesson Series
To use Zotero, you will need to download the standalone Zotero program and the web-browser plugin from here: https://www.zotero.org/download/
